Season 10 Summary[]

Eli is new to Degrassi, and he is making his marks on Clare.

In Breakaway Part 2, Eli arrives to school in a hearse. He stops after hearing something crack underneath the tire, which is Clare's glasses. He gets out and asks Clare if they're hers. She says yes and that she just got lazer eye surgery. He tells her that she is pretty, she blushes and he tells her that he'll see her around. Clare walks away happy.

In Better Off Alone (1), Eli becomes Clare Edwards English partner for the semester. His writing is said to be "a little wordy", and he is to help Clare with her writers block. Things start to heat up when Eli purposely bumps into Clare when walking out a door. The next before English starts, Clare hands her paper to Eli and lets him review it. Since Clare isn't ready to hand in the paper, Eli convinces her to skip class. The bell rings, and Clare starts to walk toward the door as Eli sits in his seat and watches her. She asks, "Well, are you coming?" He gets up, and walks off with her. Then, outside sitting on a bench, she confides in him about her parents maritial problems and when he tells her to write on it she says she can't because its too personal. He then becomes the 2nd boy to tell her that she cares what people think. He makes her scream in public for no reason and then when she tells him that it's his turn, he declines saying that its not his style. Then one thing leads to another and the end up leaning into each other against a pole. Eli then frees Clare from his grip and proceeds to awkwardly stand there leaning against the pole. Later that night, Eli IM's Clare asking saying "more public embarrassment tonight?" Clare responds saying "is that an invitation?" and he responds "do you want it to be?" Clare said "I'd love to hang -- But i can't" after her mother asked if she would like to take her dad's place and go to the church fundraiser.

In Better Off Alone (2), While Clare's Mom is driving her to school, Clare begins to question whats going on with her parents, and why they're fighting, and why her dad was not able to make it to the fundraiser, her Mom says it was because 'he had to work" then tells Clare that its nothing serious, Later, Eli talks to Clare and says he missed her, and asked jokingly, if the reason why she did not hang out with him was because Twilight was on. She then says, "She says by not telling me she's protecting me but she's not, she's only making it wor-" Eli is confused so he tells her to "Stop. Rewind. Play." Clare tells him what's going on with her parents. He asks if she's mentioned her feeling towards her parents fighting to them and she said she did, but they didn't want to talk. When they are sitting in English they get detention for skipping class to work. Ms.Dawes tells her to read the assignment she worked on when she skipped class. During the report, she slowly breaks down because it was very emotional and personal. Ms. Dawse says she's heard enough and its a great start. Eli suggests that she read it at the school showcase after being asked of opinion by the teacher. Clare says its kind of private, but Ms.Dawse still insists and signs her up. Clare informs Eli that her mom with be at the showcase. Eli says its a good thing because Clare's mom will be forced to listen to it. On the day of the showcase, she gets cold feet and leaves. At home, Clare says she got cold feet and Mrs.Edwards thinks its not like her. Clare slowly takes out the report and gives it to her mother to read. Clare convinces her mom to speak to her father about what's going on. She walks outside while her parents are talking only to see Eli on her steps. She asks him what he's doing here and Eli teases her by saying sarcastically, "Hi Eli. How are you? Fine, Clare thanks for asking." hinting about her cold greeting and she greets him properly. Eli says that he respects her for not telling her mom how she feels and she tells him that she told her mom after all. He then acts smug about it and gives her is headphones for a noise cancellation option in case things between her parents get worse of it she ever wants to ignore him. Eli then apologizes about interfering and promises not to do it again. Clare stops him as he gets in his car and says that he can interfere sometimes, but she's still going to do whatever she wants. Eli says, "I woudn't expect anything less." and drives away.

In I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself (1), Eli first appears in the episode as one of the many contestants that are trying to win backstage passes to the Dead Hand concert, by keeping their hand on the truck. As Holly J. and Sav are talking, Sav says that it was worth giving up the tickets to get the $600, Adam then responds saying that it was dumb. Later after Bianca takes her hand off the truck(after getting a wiff of Eli's arm pit), Eli, Wesley, and Adam are the only 3 Contestants left. Eli quickly gets rid of Wesley, due to him having to pee, by pouring a bottle of water out slowly. Adam and Eli then decide to split the tickets each getting two instead of four. After they get the tickets, Sav asks them to both help unload the truck. But due to Adam actually being a female, his strength was not able to hold a stereo system and he quickly drops the stereo and ends up busting the trucks tail light. Adam looks at the tail light in horror. Later in the episode, Eli fixes the tail light and Sav is grateful. Sav says, "Wow, I can't believe you got it in there." with Adam responding, "Hah, yeah thats' what my ex-girlfriend said" with Eli telling him that is gross. Sav then asks Eli how he learned to fix cars to which he simply replies "Morty breaks down every week, like now". Sav then tries to see if the tail light works, as it turns on Adam yells, "Booyah!", with Eli saying "Who are you?" which questions if they are really friends or not. Adam and Eli then tell him that they need a ride to the concert and that they should take the truck. Sav tells them that he will talk to his dad. Later at the Dot, Sav told Adam and Eli that his dad says no, but that he will take the car to the concert without telling his dad.

In I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself (2), Sav, Eli, and Adam gather near the J.T. Yorke Memorial to find ideas on how to keep Sav's parents busy while they are at the concert. Sav seems uneasy to go, yet he is determined at the same time. They finally find an ad in the newspaper for a Bollywood show. When Sav gets home he stalls his mom while taking the car keys out her pocketbook. He offers them two Bollywood show tickets as an apology. His mother tells his father that Sav is being "sincere" and that he's honestly sorry and she trusts him. At first, his father feels he is up to something suspicious, but accepts the tickets anyway. When he goes out to pick up Eli and Adam, he seems unsure about going to the concert, thinking about what his mother said about how she really "trusts" him. Once they arrive the concert, Eli admits, "Think I would touch my dad's MGB? That's why I have my own car." Both Adam and Eli admit that they'd never take a chance to steal their parents car to go to a concert. Sav checks the time on his iPhone and says they have enough time to get home if they leave now. Then Bianca, obviously drunk, comes in and falls into Sav's arms. Sav tries to calm her down when she says that he's the "guy at school who likes no fun." They are about to leave until they hear the band is going to do an encore. After the encore, he rushes to the car, bringing Bianca because she is too drunk to drive. While driving home, Adam mentions they won't be able to make it on time. At first, Sav says he's not going to speed, but does anyway since he only has twelve minutes. When the police start following him, Bianca yells "floor it" since she can't be caught drunk again. When Sav pulls over, the officer shines the light into his face saying, "This car has been reported stolen." Sav returns home and gets a lecture from his father. His fathers insists Sav has been living a perfect life, but Sav explains he doesn't because he's been pushed away from music, Anya, and fun. His father says he is grounded for two months, but deep inside somewhere he knows he is a good boy. When Sav gets back to school Adam and Eli go up to him and Sav apologizes to them for ruining their night. Adam insists that they should all play one day, but Sav thinks he should just stick with being truthful instead of sneaking around, to which Eli agrees. In the last scene, Adam admits Sav is his hero.

In Try Honesty Part 1, Eli tries to park his hearse, Morty, and when he gets out Fitz is in the way, Fitz then takes the skull off Eli's car, and chucks it through the fence Eli is pissed. Adam stares sternly at Fitz, and Fitz tells him what he's looking at, and Adam replies not sure. During school Eli tells Clare the dilemma, and she is worried. While, walking in the hallway to class they see Adam get pushed into a locker by Fitz. Eli and Clare break it up, then the three of them try to come up with a plan to stop him, after he leaves, but Clare thinks if Eli'd just ignore him things would be better. The next morning, Eli and Clare are walking into school, and Eli goes up to Fitz, and asks for an apology, and they can go back to ignoring and hating each other like they usually do. Fitz says he's sorry and then kicks Eli in his area. Clare tries to help Eli while he's on the ground in pain, and Fitz just laughs. Later on, Eli tells Adam what Fitz did while they're at the Dot, they then confront Fitz and his group and offer to make him a fake ID after Eli shows him his, and if they make him one they leave him alone. Fitz agrees to it, they make a deal. While at school Eli and Adam make Fitz a fake ID, but they make his name the one of the most wanted criminals in the area.

In Try Honesty (2), When Eli gets to school, he hands Fitz his fake ID.Fitz and his friends walk away. Adam asks"What do we do until then?" Eli replies,"Ah grasshopper, there are ways to expedite the process."Later on, Fitz comes up to him to give him a nudge on the shoulder,And says "Whats up my brother?". Then he looks at Clare and says "and sister." When Clare notices, she questions Eli if his mission is complete. Eli tells her that he just started his mission, and he has more to it. Clare seems worried and tells Adam that if Eli does anything bad, someone should stop him. Adam adds, "Maybe you should stay out of this". After school, when Fitz walks out of the store, Eli makes a phone call to 911 and tells them to come quick, that there is a fight. Eli walks up to Fitz says "Aye moron, the ID worked, eh? Those things will kill ya." This results with Fitz responding, "What the hell do you want?" Eli pushes Fitz and Fitz grabs Eli by his shirt and throws him into an alley. Fitz keeps punching and kicking him while Eli seems to not be in pain and saying "You punch like my grandma!" Soon the Police comes in and breaks up the fight even when Fitz tries to run away. Eli and Fitz get pushed against a wall, Fitz says "Sucks to be you," and Eli replies "Why is that?" Fitz says "For the fake ID, they won't even know who I am." Eli says "I guess it's your lucky day." The police come back saying Fitz has to go to the state police and Eli is good to go. As Fitz leaves in the squad car, Eli just gives him a blank facial expression. At school once again, Clare is worried and asks where Eli has been all afternoon. Eli responds saying,"conflict resolution." Clare says it's surprising, so much with no violence, but Eli says calm down because no one got hurt. Clare notices the cut on Eli's lip, wipes away the blood on his lip, and asks what happened. Eli explains what happened and she says, "You got him arrested?" Clare walks away and adds that she was about to go to Mr. Simpson about Eli's mental issues.Eli stops her and says to her "At least give me some credit." When they discuss about what will happen due to the fake ID, Fitz walks in saying, "Good one Eli, you got me." Then Eli says, "You know that ID was for novelty purposes only right?" But Fitz says he'll have to just tell that to the judge. Eli says he has learned his lesson, but Fitz calmly says "I guess I'm a slow learner," as he shoulders him. Then Eli says, "I'm in his head, right where I want to be."

In My Body Is A Cage (1), Eli is talking to Adam at his locker. Eli keeps referring to Clare coming down the hall, but Adam doesn't understand and he rants about cute girls in his ballroom dancing class. Clare finally comes up to them and criticizes Eli's work for English class (Eli had written about a prostitute named Clara Edwin). When she leaves, Adam says he is disgusted by the way they talk to each other but Eli says (with a smirk) that he finds it entertaining. Eli brings up ballroom class again, and asks Adam which girls he finds cute. When Adam says Bianca, Eli is quick to disagree, offering several negatives about her. He then walks away. Later, after an accident (Adam got his period, but when he went to get out tampons from his locker, he knocked into Clare and they spilled on the floor. Fitz and Owen begin to tease him, but then he hands them to Clare and pretends to think it's gross. She plays along but is clearly confused.), Adam walks up to Eli and Clare who are talking on a bench about the tampon incident. When Adam begins to explain, Eli says he doesn't have to, but Adam decides to tell them that he is a FTM transgender. They are clearly a little awkward about it (shown by Eli's comment after a long awkward silence, "Cooool.") but they accept him for it and Eli even makes a joke about it, saying "Hold the phone, does that mean I can't let one rip in front of you?" to which Adam replied "I would br insulted if you didn't."

In My Body Is A Cage (2), Adam is being walked down the hall by a teacher and being gawked at. The teacher allows him to sit down with Clare and Eli, who seem to not have a problem with Adam being transgendered. Adam informs Clare and Eli that his family has never really accepted him and that he's going to have to change back to "Gracie" during his grandmother's visit. Later, Eli is seen with Clare and Adam, whom is lighting a bonfire. Drew comes along with Mrs. and Mr. Torres. Drew is carrying "Gracie" clothes, which they burn. Mrs. Torres hands Adam a picture of a young Gracie but Adam is reluctant to burn it, saying that it's still him.

In Still Fighting It (1), Eli ,Clare, and Adam are in a English video project for a modern Romeo and Juliet, which supposedly Eli picked, Clare says obviously I´ll be Juliet but who will be Romeo Eli says very fast I´ll do it. Clare wants to take the relationship to the "next level", but Eli doesn't seem to know. Eli and Clare act out the scence and kiss romantically while Adam tapes it for the project. Clare asks Eli if they should reshoot that scene again, hinting she wants to kiss him. Eli looks over at Adam, who is getting annoyed, and he simply smiles and tells Clare that they got it. The next day, Clare is excited about the kiss, but Eli ignores her, so Clare talks to her teacher, who said that a lack of communication caused the star crossed lover's death. Eli ignores Clare and convinces her that he isn't interested in her and that he is sorry that he led her on when Clare confronts him When Clare walks away upset, Eli looks like he is sad which makes us believe he really didn't mean to tell Clare that and that there is a reason why he is deneing his love for her.

In Still Fighting It (2), Clare wonders why Eli isn't showing up to class, and working on the project. Feeling that her and Adam are now solo on this project, and hand it in, horribly done. After, class Clare stays to talk to Mrs. Dawes, about the project and how she can fix it on her own, but then gets some advice on wanting to remain friends with Eli, than not seeing him at all. At school the next day, Eli tells Adam that he likes Clare a lot, but since what happened, Eli doesn't want to start anything again. Clare later learns the Eli has a secret, and Adam knows, she asks Adam for his house address, and he reluctantly gives it to her. Clare shows up and demands a response from Eli, he gives up and tells her to get into his car and he takes her for a ride. He takes her to a spot, and Clare thinks he's going to ditch her, but he tells her this is the spot where I killed my girlfriend, she and him had a fight, and she left and got hit by a speeding car, while going home. He felt responsible, and never had a relationship since. Clare feels horrible, and understands. In the end they remain as friends for now, and they hand in their new project, and get a good grade.

In Purple Pills Part 1, Adam makes plans with Eli at the Dot, to hangout after school. He tells Elit that he ordered a pay per view movie, and Eli jokes around saying he doesn't want to watch that kind of stuff, but Adam tells him he's gross and that it's a movie on kung-fu. Fitz comes in and starts to bust them, but Eli tells him to get lost. After Eli, tells him that he can't because he has to stay home and study. Adam is upset because he was hoping to do something, but just ignores it. After, school he goes back to the Dot and sees Eli and Clare on having a study hangout. Eli is embarrassed and he explains everything. Adam is pissed off, and tries to ignore him. Eli and Clare then offer for him to tag along, but Adam tells them he wont because he's not going to be a third wheel again. At school the next day Adam ignores Eli and Clare's seating area, and listens to Fitz when he asks if Adam wants to sit across from him. Adam is confused that Fitz was an enemy and now he's trying to be a friend. Fitz also says it's a free earth and Adam can do whatever he wants. They eat lunch and have a friendly conversation, and when Eli confronts Adam, Adam basically makes fun of Eli and makes him leave pissed off. At the dot after school, Eli confronts Adam about him hanging out with the bully, Fitz. Adam tells him he's tired of being pitied and being the third wheel. He makes Eli feel bad and give up to say that he pitied him. Adam ignores Eli and Clare and continues to hang with Fitz.

In Purple Pills Part 2, Adam is in the weight room working out when Fitz comes in. Fitz notices that Adam is pretty strong but is having trouble with the weights, staying down, so he helps him put them down. After starting up a conversation Fitz asks if he's interested in something, like boxing. Adam agrees, he tells Fitz that he's may look a bit like a girl but he's all guy in his head. A few moments later Bianca walks in and puts on boxing gloves, Fitz tells Adam that he'll have to fight her, but Adam doesn't want to fight anyone especially Bianca. Fitz also tells Adam that if he's really a guy he'll back down and not hit a girl. Adam lets Bianca mess around with him a little bit but before Bianca punches him he leaves pissed off. Later in the halls Adam is waiting for Fitz to get out of the locker room and Eli comes and asks what's wrong Adam tells Eli what happened and that he's waiting for Fitz, Eli told him that it'll only make things worse but Adam doesn't listen. When Fitz gets out of the locker room Adam walks up to him and punches him and Fitz falls to the ground. Fitz tells him that he'll fight him later in the day. While practicing for the "fight" Eli and Clare walk in and ask Adam for them to help, Adam, Eli and Clare then devise a plan. Adam waits for Fitz with Eli outside during the time their supposed to fight. Fitz comes out of the building ready to fight, Adam punches him again and tells him he's not a girl. Fitz then chases after Adam and Eli and in the school Clare lights a stink bomb and throws it into the the exam room, and makes everyone leave. Outside Eli punches Fitz and then he punches back and gives Eli a bloody lip, and they watch everyone leave the gym. Fitz learns he has to back down and it takes Adam one more punch to send Fitz back on his knees, Adam sort of succeeds for now.

In All Falls Down Part 1, Clare and Eli are in the library spying on Mr. Simpson and the other faculty members upset and disscussing about the stink bomb that Clare threw. Clare tries to hide and Eli jokes around telling her that she's such a stink-bomber. Clare asks what she should do since Mr. Simpson was coming towards them, Eli told her to stay calm, and he'll handle it. They walk up to the entrance to the library, and Eli tells Mr. Simpson that the stink-bomb thrower was Fitz, Mr. Simpson makes sure it's true so he asks Clare and she says "I think so". After Mr. Simpson told them he'll go investigate it, he leaves, and Clare starts to panic. Eli tells her that it'll be all right and she believes him. They begin to kiss, and they pull away from each other. He tells her that he has a french exam and she says that he probably got practice. Excited about the kiss, while walking into class, Clare tells Alli about it. Alli tells her as long as he liked it she can kiss him as many times as she wants. Clare is happy and considers him her boyfriend now. After class, Clare walks up to Eli at his locker, and tells him that she is happy, and they begin to talk and then about to kiss until Fitz shows up. He gets Eli in a head lock and tells him that it's bs that he lied about the stink bomb, Clare is frightened, and Eli is still in a headlock. Luckily a teacher comes by and notices what Fitz is doing, and tells him to knock it off, and Fitz walks away telling him that he's lucky. Later, while buying tickets for the dance for her and Eli, Clare is confronted by Fitz. She tells him what it'll take for him to stop picking on Eli and Adam. He asks who she's is going to the dance with, and she says Eli. He tells her not for long, you're going to break off your date with Eli, and go to the dance with Fitzy. Clare then asks and then you'll stop picking on Eli and Adam, and he says yes as long as they don't get in his way. Clare reluctantly says yes. She tells Adam, that she doesn't know how to tell Eli, until Eli walks up and hears their conversation, and Adam sorta tells him. Clare tells him she's sorry, but he doesn't seem to mind, as long as Fitz will stop his ways. Clare and Eli hug then kiss, Eli then leaves. He goes outside and starts to mess a bit with Fitz, about wanting to take Clare. He tells her that there is nothing he can do about it, and especially when they have sex. Eli is super pissed. Later, Clare has Alli and Jenna over her house to get dressed for the dance and she tells them about the Eli, Fitz dilemma, they think it's pretty intense. Until the doorbell rings, Jenna gets it, and Eli walks in and asks if he can talk to Clare outside in private. She goes outside, and Eli gives her poison pills, he tells her that she should put those in Fitz's drink when he's not looking, he tells her that it'll make him throw up. Clare tells Eli that he's crazy and that she's not going to poison Fitz. Eli tells her that Fitz wants her to have sex wiht him, and Clare is just overwhelmed. She goes inside upset, and leaves Eli upset outside.

In All Falls Down Part 2, Clare is at the dance with Fitz, and is outside of his locker. They are talking and she learns from him that if Eli would just apologize to him then he'll leave him and Adam alone. He claims he's tired of them always wanting to fight him. Clare gets the idea for Eli to apologize, and runs off to find him. She looks around for him and sees him alone playing for chips. She tells Eli that if apologizes to Fitz then he'll stop picking on him and Adam, Eli tells her that he doesn't want to do anything, and this upsets Clare. She brings Eli to Fitz and tells him to apologize. Eli reluctantly apologizes, and Fitz notices it's not true. He tells Eli that he can tell that he doesn't mean the apology and doesn't accept it yet. Eli then tries to fool him and has the pills that Clare doesn't want him to put in Fitz's drink from earlier that day, but Eli has them in his drink. Eli gives Fitz a drink without the pills and Clare says that an Ancient Tradition is to switch cups. She switches Eli and Fitz's cups and Eli drinks his, and so does Fitz. Fitz bends down and throws up and Eli laughs to himself. Fitz is sorta embarrassed and runs off. Eli tells Clare he knew she'd do that so he purposley did what he did. Clare is pissed off at Eli and tries to ask why isn't he mad that he did that, and all Fitz wanted was an apology. Clare runs in the hallway to go talk to Fitz. Fitz is putting his jacket in his locker and Clare apologizes to him and pretty much blows her off. Clare then sees Fitz take a knife from his locker and put it in his pocket. She is nervous and Fitz knows it. She tries to get away and tells him that she is going back to the dance and runs off. Clare then tells Adam that Fitz has a knife and is looking for Eli, she wonders where he is. While trying to find him, her and Adam tell Mr. Simpson about Fitz and the knife, and hear the school is in lockdown. Clare goes in the hallway and finds Eli, she tells him that he needs to go in the gym because Fitz is coming after him with a knife, Eli doesn't seem to care, because he doesn't do anything. Finally Fitz comes up to them and Clare is trembling. He flips out his knife and is trying to corner Eli, which is being gaurded by Clare. Eli tries to tell Fitz he's sorry but Fitz doesn't listen to him. Clare tells Fitz to stop and to understand--but he calls her an annoying bitch and she gets out of the way. Fitz tells Eli what are you gonna do know emo boy and corners him. Fitz then takes the knife and scares Eli, Fitz then stabs the knife in the door. Eli slides down to the ground, as Fitz is taken away by the police. Eli and Clare go outside to see Fitz being arrested, and they try to tell Mr. Simpson the truth. He is pissed off and; and he tells them all that after break they won't recognize the school.

In Love Lockdown Part 1, Clare has forgiven Eli for fighting with Fitz and he wants to make everything up to her by going on a real first date. He’s gotten tickets to hear author Chuck Palahniuk speak that night, but Clare has the Grundy awards and her parents have agreed to take a break from constantly fighting and go with her. Clare is at the Grundy’s with her parents, who haven’t stopped fighting the entire time. They also don’t want Clare to go out with Eli after the banquet because they need to ‘talk’ do her. I assume this talk starts with a ‘d’ and ends in ‘vorce’. Clare wins the award she was nominated for, but her parents don’t even notice because they’re too busy being mad at each other. Eli is there to support Clare and she decides to ditch her parents and go to the reading with Eli, ignoring their calls and missing her curfew. Clare is getting very comfortable with her wild side and even convinces Eli that they should get piercings. But with the phone calls from her parents increasing Eli decides to call it a night. He wants to be able to take Clare out again and doesn’t think he’ll be able to do that if Clare’s dad kills him. Finally home, Clare’s parents are livid that she’s been out so late. Mad at them for always fighting, Clare gives them her version of flipping the bird by showing off her piercing and peaces out to her bedroom.

In Love Lockdown (2) Clare greets Eli in English and Eli asks if Clare's parents know about him yet. She says no. They are interrupted by their English teacher who gives Eli detention for not following the dress code. Clare then decides that Eli should meet her parents for dinner, after his detention, of course. Eli agrees. Later, at dinner, Clare's parents ask Eli questions and Clare answers them with false information. Eli gradually gets annoyed by this. Clare's mother then asks if Eli would like to thank the Lord for the wonderful meal they're about to eat, because he's the houseguest. Eli then proceeds to say something, but Clare cuts him off, yet again, and says he's an athiest. Things get awkward at the dinner table and Eli gives Clare a dirty look. The next day at school, Clare comes to school totally different. Her hair is straightened and part of her hair is dyed black. She's wearing a lot of makeup and is wearing clothing that is the complete opposite of what she usually wears. She greets Eli and tells him that he was cute last night, and after a few moments Eli turns his head and sees a transformed Clare, and in disgust, asks her "Who are you?" Clare says "I thought you'd like it." Eli starts to feel uncomfortable and tries to walk away, but Clare keeps following him and grabbing him. He tells her he doesn't understand why she's doing what she's doing, and Clare confesses that she's scared. She's scared that her parents will tell her that they're getting a divorce and there's nothing she can do about it. Eli questions why she used him in order to stop the divorce, and Clare says that they'll both have something in common when they're mad at her instead of each other. Eli says he refuses to play this game Clare's trying to play, and that she tried to hurt her parents, but he was the one who ended up getting burned in the process. He walks away infuriated, leaving Clare there alone. Later on, Clare comes home and witnesses her parents fighting, yet again. Clare then yells "STOP IT!" in order to stop the fighting. Her parents then inform her that they're getting a divorce. Clare is upset, but realizes it's for her safety and at the end of the day, it's for the best.

In Umbrella (1) Clare discovers that her parents will be selling their home, which is a big part of her childhood. She also finds out that they're getting rid of some of their antiques, including a watch that Clare's father taught her how to tell time on. Clare grabs it and walks out the house, and later at school, she sees a boy from her religious group, and she tells him about the divorce. He tells her if she ever wants to talk, he'll be there for her. Later, Clare meets up with Eli. She expresses to him that her parents are getting a divorce, and he "suggests" that maybe she can stay in the house and her parents can go back and forth to stay with her, as his friend did. Clare takes this into consideration. At home, she proposes this idea to her parents, and her parents don't like the idea. This infuriates Clare, and she storms out and goes to Little Miss Steaks, where she meets Eli and someone she didn't expect to see, his parents. Clare tells them she couldn't handle being around her parents, and his parents make her the offer of staying at their house for awhile. She asks if there's a guest room, and Eli's father says no - she'd be staying in Eli's room. He says "We've been trying to get a girl in Eli's room for awhole now." This confuses Clare, and Eli asks if his Mom and Dad could leave them alone for a bit. Eli confesses that him and Julia had sex when she stayed at their house, and Clare tells him she doesn't want to have sex with him. Eli tells her that he doesn't like it that she doesn't want to have sex with him, but it's something he'll have to deal with. Clare thinks their opposites, and that they'll end up like her parents, and Eli says "we're not your parents." Clare then leaves. The next day at school, Clare is with her religious group, and Clare tells them all that her parents are getting a divorce, and while saying this, Eli comes in the room and listens to their discussion. Clare is bedazzled as to why Jesus would do this to her, and her friend tells her that it's part of Jesus' plan, which Eli says sucks. Clare later runs out crying, saying she's losing everything she loves. Eli tells her that he'll be there for her. Afterwards, Clare comes home and her mother wants her to sort through some things, and while doing so they come across a picture of Clare, Darcy and their father at a skiing trip in Maine. Clare then goes to Eli's house, and tells her that she wants to spend the night with him. Eli knows this isn't who Clare is and he tries to talk her home, but she refuses, saying "I don't know who I am!" Clare tries to hold Eli's hands, but he jerks back. This confuses Clare. Saddened and hurt, she leaves, which leaves Eli and Clare's relationship in question.

In Umbrella Part 2, Clare is walking to her locker where she sees Eli. She is upset about what happened the day before and refuses to talk to him. She is mad that he rejected her after she threw herself at him, and Eli says he only did so because of her faith. After a heated arguement, Clare requests for her watch back. Eli says he left it at home which infuriates Clare. Clare is later seen talking with Adam about how she's going to go to Eli's house during lunch to try and get her Father's watch back, and she wants Adam to tag along. During lunch, she is at Eli's doorsteps and rings the doorbell, and a few seconds later, Adam shows up to help her out. After getting past Mr. Goldsworthy, Adam and Clare try to get into Eli's room, although they don't know his combination. After an unsuccessful try, Adam suggests Clare tries "22-04-09", which was the date of Julia's death. Unsure, Clare tries it, and is astonished that the combination worked. They both go into Eli's room and discover it's a complete mess. Clare then takes it upon herself to clean out Eli's locker. When Eli discovers his things have been thrown away, he panicks. He has trouble speaking, and is rummaging through all of his things wondering where they went. He runs to the garbage can and tries to retrieve his things, and at the same time, Clare is trying to calm him down. Eli then says, "I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!" which frightens Clare. She walks away and leaves him alone. Later on, at Clare's house, Clare finds out that her parents won't be selling the house, and that she'll be able to stay there. Later on, there is a knock on Clare's door and she is surprised that it's Eli. They sit down and talk, and Eli explains that ever since Julia's death he feels as though that if he throws something away, he'll die, or someone close to him will. Clare asks him if he's ever heard of hoarding, and he tells her that his mother tried to take him to a therapist, and that he's trying to get help. He asks Clare to always be there for him, because she's the only one that makes him feel as if he'll get better. Clare says she will, and the two share a hug. Eli and Clare are later seen in Eli's room, where they are trying to get rid of the useless junk in Eli's room. Eli has a hard time with this, but Clare guides him through it. The two then share a kiss as the scene fades to black.

In Halo Part 1, Clare is not seen much in this episode. Her scenes started out with her and Eli holding hands in the hall and then Adam getting not as much as grossed out thanks to Fiona. Eli and Clare give him advice on his relationship with her, and then later, the couple takes Adam to their secret romantic hideout, to show him where he can be alone with Fiona if he'd like too. Eli says something remotley Eli-like and Clare slaps him and says he shouldn't be talking like that in a church. All three plan to throw a New York style party for Fiona to get her mood up.

InHalo (2) Adam, Clare and Eli are setting up the abandoned church grounds for the party. After a comment about their new "party pad" Eli jokes about Adam making him look bad in front of Clare. Eli then runs off to fetch an extention chord. Eli is next seen at the party with the others; they are amazed by the great turnout. Eli asks Adam when Fiona will arrive. Adam, says he's sure she will be there any minute but shows concern. Later that evening Clare and Eli are cuddled in a hammock. Looking up at the stars, Eli asks her if she made a wish yet. She states, if she told him it wouldn't come true. Eli then replies saying: "Would it be cheesy if I said mine already has?" They share a moment but both wonder if Adam's okay.
